Held across Kingston, Ocho Rios, Montego Bay and the South Coast, this week long food event called ‘Restaurant Week’ has had food lovers making their dinner plans months in advance. This year, the week’s organisers gave Caterers their own category-giving the week even more dynamism after over 10 years in business.

The Desk got the opportunity to  visit a few participating restaurants this year and while the RW discounts ended as of Saturday, November 19 and we are sad to see it go, there are still a few places we think you should make an effort to #EatIn and #DineOut out at all year round!

1. JoJo's Jerkpit and More

With an atmosphere that models the eccentric, fun-loving owner, JoJo’s is definitely the after-work chill spot. With delectable jerk dishes, fully stocked bar and live music, this spot has been a part of Restaurant Week for a number of years. The Desk liked this particular spot because of its very easy-going vibe and not to mention the weekly Karaoke Nights on Thursdays (which we would recommend for anyone) and a live band on Saturdays. With competitive prices, great food and staff that feels like family, we definitely think you should put JoJo’s on your list of places to dine out at post-restaurant week.

2. Debut Fine Wine & Grill

If you’re ever in Montego bay, stop by Debut Fine Wine and Grill and try their delicious signature brick oven pizza. The Desk first heard of this spot when we travelled with the RW team to a promotional dinner they were having as a precursor the fabulous #EatInDineOut event. Expect excellent customer service, delicious and affordable food- all while dining in fine, modern style.

3. Tooksie-Kay Catering by Alexa Von Strolley

Chef Von Strolley has been making her name in the gastronomy industry so it was no surprise that she'd come on board under RW's first ever 'Caterers' category. Von Strolley recently launched 'Kayter' with the intention to turn it into a fine dining experience. We first discovered this spot when RW sponsors Serge and Caribbean Passion (powered by Hyundai) took some media mavens out on a pre-restaurant week tour. The mavens were treated to a delicious Vol Au Vent creation made with the Serge and Caribbean Passion products all while dining in a juxtaposing rustic atmosphere.

4. Raffaele's Gourmet Pizzeria

Looking for a spot where the taste of Italy has a Jamaican flair? Then head on over to Orchid Plaza and dine out at Raffaele's. We like this spot for one simple reason: the food is amazing. They were featured under the Nyam & Scram category this year and the menu not only features pizza but salads, soups, burgers, pasta and meats. If you didn't get a chance to try this place out during Restaurant Week we still think you should give it a try... tell them we sent you!

5. OMG Restaurant and Coffee Bar

Head to the south coast- specifically Mandeville and try out the delicious treats that await you at OMG Restaurant and Coffee Bar. The Desk has yet to try this spot out for ourselves but with all the rave reviews, we certainly can't wait to! Located on Brumalia Road, OMG was featured under the Tasty category this RW. OMG prides itself on establishing itself as providing premier fine and casual dining experiences and delicious coffee, hot beverages and dessert options. Heading to cool cool Mandeville? Stop by!
