Memorable Moments of Diner en Blanc Kingston 2016 

Another successful staging of the country’s most anticipated pop-up all white event, DEB went by and what an event it was! 

The Market Me team was out and about working the lawns, and were able to capture some “Memorable Moments”. Take a look, maybe you’ll agree with our ideas.

Jacqui Tyson put on a thrilling and exciting show beside the Best Dressed Table. At dinner time, the From Thought to Finish crew set up a burner right beside the anticipating onlookers as she set fire to the oversized wok with a bottle white wine for a sweet and savoury sauce poured one by one unto each of the guest’s pastries.

Just when you thought the party climaxed and plateaued, it was reinvigorated with a storm of confetti blowing from the stage over the dance floor. The DJ cranked the tunes as clouds of white float in the air for almost a minute and then gently settles on a sea of dancing people.

The bottle was popped on stage (a bit of an anti-climax since no champagne was actually sprayed). The great thing was that every palette could get wet.. If they got their glasses close enough to the giant bottle of Champagne that made its way unto the dance floor.

Once again, DEB Kingston lit up the night sky with sparklers and this time around, with torches. The live drummers added to the experience, especially when the torches were being lit. We half-expected to see some fire dancers jump out and put on a show but maybe that’s in the bag for next year *hint hint*.

We loved  that persons used DEB as the opportunity to go all out with their outfits. White was given a whole new level of versatility as there were so many different elements incorporated so fashionistas could stand out! From the eccentric-parasols to headpieces to capes and mesh. From Haute Couture, to Avant Garde, it was nothing short of a fashion parade and definitely a memorable experience.

Some were hits some were misses, but patrons definitely went all out.

Have you ever seen a procession of dancing servers each carrying a platter with chicken? Then darling, you haven’t lived! This activation was put on by Best Dressed Chicken and featured two armies of servers coming from opposite sides of the venue marching to a beat through the table rows. Immaculately dressed, each server held a tastefully garnished whole chicken for each table, courtesy of the brand.

The only hiccup was that by the time the servers arrived, most persons had finished their own dinner.
