Market Me Summer Chill Spots

It’s that time of year when we take out our shades, sunscreen, swimsuits and pull up to a beach. Yup! It’s Summer. Time for late nights, road trips and making memories! If your summer chill spot list is limited to going to the beach, do not look any further! The Market Me Team is giving you a number of new places to add to your “To Visit” list.

1. EITS CAFÉ

Tucked away in the Blue Mountains, EITS Café is an open-air, French-styled eatery. EITS stands for “Europe In the Summer” and is known for its relaxing atmosphere and its breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains. In addition to its delicious food,  EITS is also revered for its accommodation and farm-to-table service. If you are looking for a quick and affordable getaway, EITS Café is the perfect escape this summer!

2. 100

100 Hope Road is the prime entertainment spot in Kingston on a Friday night, as there are four different destinations in one: The Rooftop, The Terrace, The Vault Gaming Lounge and The Island Bet Sports Bar. The Rooftop bar has an ambiance like no other, with a view of the city lights topped off with a cool breeze. The Terrace is the perfect place to kick back after work for a few drinks or a casual dinner. The Vault Gaming Lounge consists of semi-live dealers, and complimentary food and drinks are available to all gamers. Lastly, the Island Bet Sports bar is an air-conditioned lounge with visibility of a big screen TV. Customers can also order from the 100 food and drink menu.

3. THE PUB (MAYFAIR HOTEL)

The Pub is located at the Mayfair Hotel, which has been a well kept secret for many years. It is close enough to the center of traffic but provides enough tranquility so guests are not disturbed by the surrounding noise. The Pub doubles as a bar and restaurant. Not only does the Pub offer seating inside, but customers may also enjoy seating outside under a covered patio, seating in an open-air den and lastly, by the poolside.

4. LOOK-OUT POINT (BEVERLY HILLS)

From the look-out point in Beverly Hills you can see no other than the spectacular view of Kingston, Jamaica. If you feel like kicking back, relaxing and drinking with friends, then this is the spot to be. Take a break from the scorching summer nights on the flat terrain and enjoy the cool breeze at look-out point in the hills. Look-out point is a private chill spot, so if you are looking to enjoy a breathtaking view with that special someone, this is the place for you!

5. DUB CLUB

Every Sunday evening, Dub Club is the ideal chill spot to catch a vibe and relax with friends. Located at Skyline Drive, Dub Club overlooks Kingston’s bright city lights, where people can enjoy authentic Jamaican food and reggae music. From old school rastas to young hipsters, Dub Club attracts a diverse crowd of people who simply want to enjoy themselves. There is no other place on the island where you can find a scene of such appreciation for Jamaican culture. Come out, join us and visit the chillest of chill spots this summer!

6. MVP Friday’s and Pepperseed Wednesday’s

‘Puls8’ is the perfect place to get a laid back, after-party experience. Whether you’re already out with friends and not yet willing to call it a night or, you’re looking for a much less demanding vibe, then Puls8 is the place to be! There’s no cover charge, the music is always great (contemporary vibe on a Friday and taste of the oldies on Wednesdays) and you even get the chance to see guest performers- from Spice to Aidonia to Sizzla and more!

7. UNCORKED

If you love to eat and drink, Uncorked is the place to be this summer. With an endless wine list, Uncorked offers a number of appetizers and meals one simply cannot refuse. From the smoked marlin salad to the Uncorked burger, each meal here always hits the spot. In addition to the delectable foods on the menu, the atmosphere at Uncorked is everything a summer chill spot should feel like! You are bound to run into people you know here, as Uncorked is certainly a favourite chill spot whether for happy hour drinks or a casual dinner. 8. LIME CAY

Visiting Lime Cay is the ideal island life experience. Lime Cay is located off the coast of Kingston, and is a small stand alone island of sand. So pack a bag and get ready to soak up some sun on this beautiful beach! When it gets too hot, don’t worry, you can cool off in the refreshing water surrounding the island.

9. TGIF

TGIF is not only one of our favourite chill spots for the summer, but it’s one of our favourites all year round! TGIF is known for its great customer service and affordable prices. From electric lemonades to long island ice teas, the drinks menu at TGIF is beyond extensive. TGIF also offers large portions for low prices, which makes it a great day to day chill spot. 10. CRU

Located at 71 Musgrave Road, CRU is known for its spectacular rooftop view  overlooking Kingston’s mountainous terrain. This summer, CRU is busiest on Saturday nights when Kingston’s party people come out to enjoy the non-stop, high energy nightlife. However, on any other day of the week, you can find a young, lively crowd at CRU for after work drinks or a quick dinner. The bar’s surrounding city lights set the stone for a fun evening of kicking back and relaxing with friends. Don’t believe us? Pay CRU a visit and you’ll see what we mean!

11. Gorge View Bar

Nestled in the foggy valley of the Rio Cobre river, a secret gem lays just before you enter Bog Walk. The Gorge View Bar is home to a rustic country setting, with a stunning view of the placid Rio Cobre. Hit it up on a Saturday night for some oldies tunes, good ol’ white rum and a view to kill!
