The third staging of the We Got the Runs and Kind Hearts Foundation's "Colour Me Happy Run" was launched this morning at the Mitsubishi Showroom on South Camp Road. The run, scheduled for September 17, 2016 will be held at Hope Gardens. It will once again benefit the Kind Hearts Foundation as they aim to finish building the Tranquillity Primary and Infant School in Portland.

The Colour Me Happy Run is a one of a kind run in Jamaica and includes a run with powder throws at each kilometre and ends with an after party where attendees can expect powder throws while jamming to music by DJ Cruise and DJ Zacko Chin.

We’ve listened keenly to our runners and partyers and this year, we’ll be including more powder, more fun and more surprises. Although the running scene is inundated with 5 Ks, each year, our turn out has grown as persons are interested in fitness while also just having fun and being imaginative as our awards include not only the usual 1st, 2nd and 3rd place but also prizes for the most creative outfit and best team outfit. Andrew Walcott, President of WGTR

Ambassadors for Colour Me Happy 2016 include Olympian Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce, Fitness Enthusiast Kamila McDonald and TV-host and media personality Terri-Karelle Reid. These ambassadors were selected as they embody the spirit of CMH – fun, fit and philanthropic.

An event like 'Colour Me Happy' captures the imagination and excitement of our youth and helps to keep our population as a whole, on the move and healthy. I hope there will be more inventive, fun, and safe events that encourage our youth to get active. Dr. Chris Tufton, Minister of Health

We’re so honoured that WGTR has once again partnered with Kind Hearts Foundation on Colour Me Happy. Last year, we raised over 1 million dollars and finished constructing Duhaney Pen Basic School in St. Thomas that enabled 60 children to have a safe environment to learn. CMH is priceless – not only do you get to make fun memories with your friends, but you also know you’re impacting a child’s life for the better. Christina Hudson, Director of Kind Hearts Inc.
