Seprod Limited, has partnered with the Ministry of Tourism’s Linkages Network to host Jamaica’s first seminar on oils and fats in Montego Bay on October 12, 2016.

The seminar, dubbed The Gastronomy of Fats and Oils, will feature cutting edge presentations from internationally recognised oil and fats consultant Judy Carter, culinary demonstrations from the  Chairman of the Jamaica Culinary Federation Chef Dennis Mcintosh and a display of Jamaican spices courtesy of the Jamaica Business Development Corporation (JBDC).

Caribbean Products Limited, a subsidiary of Seprod, is the leading local manufacturer and distributor of fats and oils to Jamaica’s hotel, restaurant and café industries. CEO of Seprod Limited,  Richard Pandohie said, “Buying locally benefits us all. This aligns with the mandate of the Tourism Linkages Network which was established in 2013 to increase the consumption of local goods, create employment, as well as to generate and retain more of the country’s foreign exchange earnings.

“Hotels still import many products into Jamaica, and we want to highlight to the players in this industry that Seprod produces a wide range of products that are not only competitive in cost but also in quality”, said Pandohie.

The seminar will be held at the Hilton Rose Hall Resort and Spa on Wednesday October 12, 2016 and will see scores of local chefs, restaurant owners and food enthusiasts learning about basic fats and oils chemistry, the latest trends in the industry and the best ways to use fats and oils to enhance food quality. Minister of Tourism, the Hon. Saint Edmund Bartlett and the Chairman of the Tourism Linkages Network, Mr. Adam Stewart are both expected to give remarks at the event.

Seprod will also be displaying some of its most popular food service products which they believe are competitive both in quality and price.
