Revellers will experience the biggest carnival to date come April 2017 with three major bands on the road. Known for their annual week-long summer party series Dream Weekend, the Dream Entertainment Jamaica team has partnered with YUMA Vibe out of Trinidad and Tobago to give revellers the ultimate carnival experience. The team launched their premium carnival band- Xodus earlier this month.

Xodus resonates as it represents the vibes and energy of carnival and the movement of people from all over the diaspora to join us in Jamaica for that celebration Kamal Bankay

Managing Director of Dream Entertainment, Scott Dunn said that Dream Entertainment and YUMA decided to create their own carnival band as it gives them control over the experience they provide to their patrons.

If we are going to promise patrons a great experience, we need to be able to control that experience, if we are a part of Bacchanal they control that experience so as much as we respect Bacchanal and believe in what they are doing we are also an entertainment company (Dream Entertainment and YUMA) and we think that we can deliver an experience that is second to none. Scott Dunn

He further noted that YUMA as their partner, brings to the table decades of technical expertise in planning and executing Carnival. Director of YUMA, Sean Burkett said the drive with the partnership is really to bond a Caribbean community.

This is an opportunity for another generation to continue the carnival. Not to separate it, not to compete or anything but to give their personality to it... so Bacchanal is safe, Sean Burkett

The Dream Entertainment and YUMA Teams maintain that their carnival band does not intend to compete with Bacchanal Jamaica or Jamaica Carnival but instead they intend to grow the product.

We need to expand it, we need to grow it, we need to nurture it and it would be good if we could do it collectively Sean Burkett

Burkett noted that both teams are committed to providing revellers with a world class experience.

We have come up with a truck design that satisfies the masqueraders with ease of services whether it be food, drinks and definitely with music. We are going to be putting together a cast of DJs and entertainment that will bring height and energy to Jamaica. Sean Burkett

The Xodus Carnival band will have their own starting and finishing point however the road procession will happen in highlight areas together so revellers from the different bands (Jamaica Carnival and Bacchanal Jamaica) will, at minimum, march together at Waterloo Road and West Kings House Road. Prices for the Xodus carnival band are still being finalised however Bankay maintains that the prices will be competitive with typical prices normally charged for carnival in Jamaica.

We have a dream and the dream is to deliver- deliver in terms of costumes, services, entertainment. Sean Burkett
