Among the top high schools in Jamaica, Campion College has produced graduates who can be found in almost every profession in all corners of the world. But do you know them?

Here are 10 persons who are making great strides locally and globally who you probably didn't know went to Campion College.

1. Terri Karelle Reid

The definition of beauty, vibrancy and drive, Miss Jamaica World 2005 Terri Karelle Reid graciously juggles motherhood with being the Online Brand Manager at The Gleaner Company, host of the popular Digicel Rising Stars, JustBet’s Before the Whistle shows, and being a sought-after public speaker. Interestingly, Terri Karelle studied veterinary medicine in Cuba.

2. Peter Bunting

No-nonsense investment banker turned politician, Peter Bunting speaks candidly about his Campion College days often. A CCAA Hall of Fame recipient, he is also a former Minister of Security, the Member of Parliament for Central Manchester, and the former General Secretary of the People’s National Party. He co-founded Jamaica’s first private investment bank Dehring, Bunting and Golding and is a co-founder of Proven Investment Ltd, currently a top performing company on the Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE).

3. Joel Sadler

While you may not recognize his name, you should know who he is. Joel is the inventor of what Time Magazine hailed as one of the 50 best inventions of the World in 2009, The Jaipur-Knee. The Jaipur-Knee is a prosthetic aid to amputees that mimics a real knee and only costs around US$20.

4. Kamina Johnson-Smith

Senator Johnson-Smith made history when she became Jamaica’s first female Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade in March, 2016. A lawyer by profession, she started a private firm after serving as the head of Corporate Affairs and Projects of Cable & Wireless Jamaica Limited before assuming her current public service role. Her passion for public work has also placed her in positions like Spokesperson on Education and Youth as well as Opposition Whip for the Jamaica Labour Party.

5. Mark Golding

Jamaica’s former Minister of Justice and current opposition senator, former campionite Mark Golding was a founding director of investment group Dehring Bunting and Golding. The enigmatic politician is also a director of Proven Management Limited.

6. Alando Terrelonge

The vibrant and passionate first time Member of Parliament for East Central St. Catherine, epitomizes the foundation on which Campion College was built; hardwork, dedication and passion. A lawyer by profession, Terrelonge was awarded the Chevening Scholarship by the British Council in 2008 to pursue his Master’s Degree at the University of Warwick, United Kingdom, where he studied courses related to International Relations; International Criminal Law; and International Human Rights. He is passionate about championing the cause of poor Jamaicans.

7. Imani Duncan-Price

A former Miss Jamaica World, she can easily be described as super-mommy, juggling motherhood and being a wife with the many other hats she wears. The Harvard alumni (yes, she is), is a former director of the Development Bank of Jamaica, and co-founded the Caribbean Policy Research Institute (CaPRI), the Caribbean’s first independent Think Tank. She was also JMMB’s Group Chief Strategy Officer for eight years before following her father’s footsteps into representational politics, serving as a Senator from 2012 to 2015.

8. Jacqueline Sharp

Her petite frame and delicate appearance is a clear juxtaposition to her accomplished resume and powerful office. Jacqueline Sharp was appointed President & CEO of Scotia Group Jamaica Limited effective September 1, 2013. She was also appointed to the Board of Directors of the Company and its leading subsidiary, The Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica Limited. Did someone say Boss Lady?

9. Shelly - Ann Curran

Producer of two Grammy nominated artists, Shelly Curran is an accomplished marketer, credited with many of the big moves made by Digicel under her leadership as Group Sponsorship Manager and Senior Sponsorship & Activations Manager including the signing of Usain Bolt and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce to the company. She continues to make moves in the entertainment and marketing industry, managing the artistes Devin Di Dakta and JL, both of whom have been nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Reggae Album.
