Monymusk Executives Richard Bloomfield , Martha Miller and Jospeh Robinson share a light moment with Inna Di Mix Executive Producer Samantha- Rae McLean
Jamaica's cocktail scene has evolved within the past ten years. With bartenders having access to online resources and the rise in bartending schools locally, many are expanding their skill sets to differentiate themselves and capitalise on the rising "cocktail culture" locally and internationally.
Local, talent-based reality tv-style competition Inna Di Mix is just another one of those opportunities. This series has given a national platform to a group of seven Jamaican mixologists to feature their original and extraordinary mixes using some of the finest spirits available.
On Saturday, September 24, 2022, the show's first season concluded with Randeen Thomas, otherwise known as "The Big Belly Bartender." being declared the winner. Thomas, originally from Kingston, is now residing in St. Elizabeth, where he works on the Appleton Estate Rum tour as a mixologist and tour guide. His motivation in the competition was attributed to his goal of revolutionising the mixology scene in Jamaica.
Before the finale broadcast, the show's producer Samantha-Rae McLean hosted a private screening on Friday for the contestants, their close circles and media members. Local rum brand Monymusk Rums provided cocktails on site made with their Special Gold and Overproof blends.
